MassMutual's Kelly Piacenti Joins ASNP's Advisory Board
Kelly Piacenti, head of SpecialCareSM, has joined the Advisory Board of the Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP).
Piacenti is responsible for MassMutual’s SpecialCareSM Program, which includes more than 600 Special Care Planners who help educate families and caregivers of people with special needs about the importance and steps in creating a life care plan to help provide a secure financial future.. She also oversees partnerships between MassMutual and the largest special needs non-profit organizations, including Easterseals, The Arc, United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), Autism Society of America (ASA), National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) and Tuberous Sclerosis. Before joining MassMutual, Piacenti led the MetLife Center for Special Needs Planning, where she was employed from 1991 through 2016. Piacenti serves on the National Board of Directors for both The Arc and TASH, national non-profit organizations advocating for people with disabilities.
As the mother of a child with special needs, Piacenti has been an advocate in both her personal and professional life for individuals with special needs and their families.
“I am honored to be asked to join The Academy of Special Needs Planners,” Piacenti said. “I look forward to working with the Academy to continue my work in assisting special needs professionals and also providing various tools, education and resources to improve their understanding of the challenges of special needs planning.”
“Kelly will bring a new perspective to our organization,” said ASNP National Director Kevin Urbatsch. “Her vast experience in providing financial planning to persons with disabilities will allow our organization to broaden its scope to help all professionals who assist in the planning for persons with disabilities.”
